Blue Java  Banana

Also known as blue java bananas, ice cream bananas, Hawaii bananas, ghee king (blue java). Is a tough, cold-tolerant banana. Named for its sweet aroma, it is said to have an ice cream flavor. Like the consistency and taste reminiscent of vanilla. It is native to Southeast Asia and is a hybrid of two types of bananas native to Southeast Asia. (Musa polpiciana and Musa achuminata).

 Blue Java Banana is a triploid (ABB) hybrid of the seed banana of Musa polypsiana and Musa achuminota.

In Hawaii it is called 'ice cream banana' and in Fiji it is called 'Hawaiian banana'. It is also known as 'Cry' in the Philippines and 'Sensio' in Central America. Blue Java banana trees can grow up to 4.5 m tall. They are cold tolerant and, like the tall bananas of the ABB group, are wind resistant due to their strong forged stems and root systems. The leaves are silvery green.

Fruit clusters are small, with 7 to 9 arms. The fruit is 18 to 23 cm long and exhibits a characteristic silvery blue color when not ripe. The fruit turns pale yellow when ripe, with white flesh. Can flower 15 to 24 months after planting and harvest 115 to 150 days later.

Blue Java Bananas are popular bananas that can be eaten raw or cooked. They are preferred by the people for their fragrant taste with custard taste like vanilla. They are also popular as ornamental and shade plants for their unusual blue color, large size and tolerance to temperate climates.

நீல ஜாவா வாழைப்பழம் மூசா பல்பிசியானா மற்றும் மூசா அக்குமினாட்டாவின் விதை வாழையின் ட்ரிப்லாய்டு (ABB) கலப்பினமாகும்.அதன் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்ட பெயர் மூசா அகுமினாட்டா × பால்பிசியானா (ABB குரூப்) ' நீல ஜாவா'.

பழக் கொத்துகள் சிறியவை, ஏழு முதல் ஒன்பது கைகளைத் தாங்கும். பழம் 18 முதல் 23 சென்டிமீட்டர்கள் நீளம் கொண்டது மற்றும் பழுக்காத போது ஒரு சிறப்பியல்பு வெள்ளி நீல நிறத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. பழம் பழுத்தவுடன் வெளிர் மஞ்சள் நிறமாக மாறும், வெள்ளை  சதை கொண்டது. நடவு செய்த 15 முதல் 24 மாதங்களில் பூக்கும் மற்றும் 115 முதல் 150 நாட்களுக்குப் பிறகு அறுவடை செய்யலாம்.

நீல ஜாவா வாழைப்பழங்கள் பிரபலமான வாழைப்பழங்கள், பச்சையாகவோ அல்லது சமைத்ததாகவோ சாப்பிடலாம். அவை வெண்ணிலா போன்ற கஸ்டர்ட் சுவை கொண்ட மணமான சுவைக்காக மக்களால் விரும்பப்படுகிறது. அவற்றின் அசாதாரண நீல நிறம், பெரிய அளவு மற்றும் மிதமான காலநிலைக்கு சகிப்புத்தன்மை ஆகியவற்றிற்காக அவை அலங்கார மற்றும் நிழல் தாவரங்களாகவும் பிரபலமாக உள்ளன.
